Houston Salutes America’s Heroes Veteran’s Day Celebration 2014 & 2015

Recruited by Mayor’s Office of Special Events to stage and execute the first block of walkers in the parade which took place in downtown Houston. Worked closely with Susan Christian and the event director, Stella Pereira, to swiftly and efficiently kick-off the parade. Led a team of three responsible for 20+ parade entries, ensuring proper placement, pace, and timing.

Bayou Greenway Day 2015

Event Director for first annual Bayou Greenway Day 2015 presented by Noble Energy along Brays Bayou for the Houston Parks Board in connection with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events and the Houston Parks & Recreation Department. Over 2,000 Houstonians, including Mayor Annise Parker, came out to Walk, Bike, Run, Stroll, Play, Picnic, and Paddle at this free community event on April 4, 2015. Successfully unified team, focused efforts, cut budget in half, and efficiently executed event.

Participants included: Houston Dynamo, Bayou City Adventures, Recipe for Success, Bike Houston, Bayou Preservation Association, Austin High School, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

Bayou City Art Festival Downtown 2014

In charge of planning and executing the VIP experience and the interactive Green Mountain Energy Children’s Creative Zone at this event held in downtown Houston which attracts 40,000 attendees over two days. Worked closely with non-profit partners and outside vendors; provided support and counsel to the event leader, the Executive Director of the Art Colony Association, the event producer.

Battleship TEXAS Centennial Festival

Celebrating 100 years of the ship and the crew who served her.

Promoted to project leader in January 2014 for final stages of planning and execution of this all day family friendly festival at the Battleship TEXAS featuring Robert Earl Keen planned for 20,000 attendees with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Successfully led a team of 30+ individuals and organizations specializing in event logistics, stage/entertainment, marketing, transportation, and security, to name a few. Accomplished changing the team dynamic to a more cohesive, collaborative group focused on the success of the events day of and through project completion.
